Keeping Austin Weird: Art at UT

The University of Texas at Austin is displaying some "unique" art on loan from the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. One of the most prominent sculptures featured on campus so far is the one pictured above, The West by Donald Lipski.

The sculpture was made in 1987 (holla birth year!) and features two large ocean buoys with pennies glued on them...

I'm not much of an art analyzer so I'm not even gonna start with this one. All I will say is that it is very large and tends to get in the way as I'm walking to Astronomy.
