Fox's Secret TV Show Formula

After watching the premiere of FOX's latest medical TV show, "Mental," I've been able to determine FOX formula for new shows.

If you come up with a show that meets these qualifications, you're sure to get greenlit (at least by FOX):

Quirky British doctor (or Brit pretending to be American in the case of "House") with issues brings his new ideas to an office of people who constantly try to understand his unorthodox methods. Hilarity, drama ensue.

Oh and there also has to be one or more very assertive and smart women (usually brunettes) on the medical team who doubt every single thing the doctor ever does, even though he shows time and time again with every passing episode that he is ALWAYS right. Now, we've already got an abnormal illness diagnostician with a prescription drug addiction (HOUSE).Then there's the human lie detector whose tremendous gift of reading people has negatively affected his personal relationships (Lie to Me).And finally, our latest kooky doctor, Jack Gallagher, a psychiatrist whose family is filled with serious brain issues, which fuels him to do the work he does (Mental). So just come up with some sort of other medical field, find a Brit to play the lead, and you're all set for your very own FOX medical dramedy!

Here are some ideas:

  • Physical therapist
  • Veterinarian
  • Urologist
  • Anesthesiologist
  • Dermatologist
  • Dentist
It's bound to work. Just don't forget to thank me in the credits!
